Powerpoints and circuits

Not enough powerpoints is one of the most common jobs we do. We also run dedicated circuits for ovens, induction cooktops, air conditioners and workshops.

Any one of these is a good reason to have an electrician take a look.

  • Power boards plugged into power boards
  • Powerpoints in the wrong place after a renovation
  • A new oven, induction cooktop or air conditioner that needs its own circuit
  • No powerpoint where the TV or desk needs to go
  • Outdoor power wanted for a deck, pond or shed
  • Loose, cracked or scorched powerpoints

Always included.

Whatever the size of the job.

  • Double powerpoints as standard, USB-C if you like
  • Points set at the height you want
  • Dedicated circuits sized to the appliance
  • Weatherproof outlets outside
  • Every new circuit on a safety switch
  • Testing, and a certificate where the work needs one

  2. Priced by photo, or a visit

Small jobs can be priced from photos. Bigger ones get a quick visit.

  3. Fixed quote

A written price before anything starts.

  4. Install day

Cables run through the roof or under the floor where possible, to keep walls intact.

  5. Tested

Every point and circuit tested, and the switchboard labels updated.

A fixed price. Here's what sets it.

Every house is different, so we price the job in front of us. These are the things that move it.

  • How far the new point is from existing wiring
  • Wall type: plaster, brick or tiles
  • Whether a new circuit is needed
  • Room left in your switchboard
  • Access under the floor or in the roof

You get a fixed, written price before any work starts, with anything optional listed separately. If we find something unexpected once we start, we stop and talk to you before doing anything extra.

All work is done to AS/NZS 3000, the Australian wiring rules.

Can you add powerpoints without cutting into walls?

Often, yes. In plaster walls we can usually feed cables from the roof or under the floor. Brick takes more work, and we'll explain the options.

Does an induction cooktop need a new circuit?

Most do, and some need switchboard work too. We can check your setup before you buy one.

Can I have USB powerpoints?

Yes, including USB-C. They are a popular swap in kitchens, bedrooms and studies.
