Smoke alarms
We replace old and battery-only alarms with mains-powered photoelectric alarms, linked together so a fire at one end of the house wakes everyone at the other.

Signs it's time.
Any one of these is a good reason to have an electrician take a look.
- Alarms more than 10 years old (the date is on the back)
- Battery-only alarms that chirp at 3am
- No alarm in the hallway outside the bedrooms
- Alarms that don't set each other off
- A rental property with its yearly check due
- A renovation or a new bedroom
Always included.
Whatever the size of the job.
- Photoelectric alarms, the type fire services recommend
- Mains power with a battery backup
- Every alarm linked to the others
- Placed where the building rules require
- Every alarm tested
- A record to keep for your rental or insurer

How long do smoke alarms last?
About 10 years. The expiry or manufacture date is printed on the back of each alarm.
I'm a rental provider. Can you do the yearly check?
Yes. We test and clean every alarm, replace any that need it, and send you a record for your files.
Can alarms be linked without new cables?
Yes, with wireless linked alarms. They're a good option where there's no roof access.
Often booked together.
